I'm 99% finished on this new painting, with the exception of the grey shape at the lower left, which just needs a bit of fine tuning - perhaps I'll put a sheer glaze of white over it to push it back just a little. Aside from that one shape, the rest of the work feels complete. The painting is 18" x 24"; titled "Everything is Coming Together"

there's always a lot of activity backstage. My first guest exhibition, Liquid Color: Painting with Wax, featuring guest artists Connie Ehindero and Carey Corea, opens this Wed, March 28. Today I'm at home working on labels for the more than 45 art works on display. It's a beautiful show.

Liquid Color: Painting with Wax runs March 28 - April 28, 2018 at Jeanne Beck Art Gallery & Studio, 154 Mill Street, Canandaigua, NY, 14424.

Special Events Saturday, April 7:

1 -2 PM Painting with Wax Demo with Connie Ehindero

2-4 PM Meet the Artists Opening Reception. Light refreshments will be served.

I always say a work is finished with a twinge of reluctance. The next day or two days or even a week later I could decide this new painting needs just a bit more editing or a complete overhaul. But today I feel good about it. It reminds me of how the birds at our feeders will suddenly fly up and away, then return to eat more. So I'm calling it " Taking Flight" for now.
